Bright and balanced, this anaerobically processed coffee from Mutambu Hill in Burundi is something truly special. Bursting with vibrant notes of cherry, cola bottles and brown sugar. Expect fresh cherry acidity upfront, followed by cola-like sweetness and a creamy, rounded finish.
This lot is produced by Migoti Coffee, a pioneering company based in Bujumbura Rural Province. Since 2016, they’ve worked to improve the livelihoods of over 1,200 smallholder farmers by providing quality processing, agronomic training and a direct link to the specialty market.
The coffee is grown at 1,800 masl and processed using anaerobic fermentation, where cherries are sealed in oxygen-free tanks to intensify fruity complexity and body. The result is a vibrant, rounded cup with bright character and a creamy mouthfeel.
Migoti also leads impactful community work – supporting reforestation, offering microloans, building local water infrastructure and launching essential oil crops to diversify income. This coffee showcases the exceptional quality produced by smallholder farmers in Burundi and the vital support they receive from organisations like Migoti and our green coffee partners at Omwani.
