A Fresh Look for Your Coffee
Same Coffee, Smarter Packaging
You’ll start to see something new in your coffee deliveries over the next few weeks. It’s still Voyager coffee, still roasted on the edge of Dartmoor – but now it’s arriving in a fresh new bag.
Since 2018, we’ve been using compostable pouches made from plant-based materials. We loved them (and still do), but the UK’s composting system just isn’t ready yet. Most compostable packaging needs specialist facilities – and too often it ends up in general waste or contaminating recycling.
In the meantime, the UK’s recycling system has taken a big step forward. WRAP — the charity helping shape the future of waste and resources — is rolling out a Simpler Recycling system. By 2027, every UK council will collect soft plastics (including coffee bags) from the kerbside.
- Our new ‘waste-made’ bags are ready for this future:
- Made from up to 70% recycled soft plastic and fully recyclable again
- Resealable to keep your coffee fresh
- Less material used overall, and a box-bottom shape so it sits neatly on your counter
- New label design with a nod to our Dartmoor roots
Find out more about the new recycling system on the WRAP Website & check where you can recycle your bag now via Recycle Now.
FAQ
Can I compost the new bags?
No — they’re designed to be recycled, not composted. Pop them in with your soft plastics at supermarket drop-off points, or kerbside from 2027.
Why change from compostable?
Compostables work best when the infrastructure is there. Right now, the UK is set up to recycle soft plastics more effectively than it can compost them.
Will my coffee taste any different?
Nope! Same coffee, same roast – just fresher for longer thanks to the resealable design.
