At Voyager, we’re always inspired by the natural world, and we believe that the coffee we drink should be just as inspiring. And that’s why we’ve been offering El Tapir, a coffee that truly captures the essence of the San Ignacio region in Peru.

A sip of this coffee will take you to the lush forests and rolling hills of the region. You’ll taste the vibrant tangerine notes that evoke sunny days of the region’s tropical climate while the blackberry notes will transport you to the hidden corners of the forest, and then, there’s the warm hug of milk chocolate on the finish.

El Tapir is a red-honey processed coffee, which means that the beans are dried with some of the mucilage intact. This creates a fruity sweetness and complexity that’s unique to this coffee. And it’s perfectly suited for brewing as espresso, cafetière, or Aeropress.

For those who love brewing coffee with the Aeropress, we’ve got a suggested recipe to make the most of this fantastic coffee. Dose 12g of ground coffee and pour 200ml of water that’s just off the boil. Give it a quick stir and let it steep for a minute or so before plunging slowly.

As a small team of coffee enthusiasts, at Voyager we are committed to bringing you the most flavourful, sustainably-driven coffees possible, and El Tapir is no exception. The cooperative we work with has implemented a number of programs to improve the quality of the coffee, including training programs for farmers and investing in new equipment for processing and roasting. They’ve also implemented sustainable farming practices such as composting and using natural pest control methods to reduce the impact on the environment.

Voyager continues to offer El Tapir, not just because of its exceptional flavour but also because of the way it’s produced. It’s a true reflection of the wild, natural beauty of the San Ignacio region. So, brew a steaming mug of El Tapir, close your eyes, and let the flavours transport you to the heart of the Peruvian wilderness.
