Konga is about 4km south of the town of Yirgacheffe. Roughly 2000 smallholders grow coffee at high altitudes of up to 2100 masl, and deliver ripe cherry to stations, where it is weighed, washed and sundried on raised beds before being transported for export.
Heirloom varietals are a wild mixture of indigenous wildflower varieties and each zone or village has its own flavour profile, shaped over many years according to growing conditions such as soil, elevation and climate.
This delicious coffee is tea like and has delicate notes of peach, jasmine and honey. The light roast brings out these characteristics and is best enjoyed as a slower brew, like V60 or Aeropress.
