Roque Honorato bought his coffee farm in Monterredondo, Cauca in 2005. The farm, which is around 3.5 hectares and sits at an altitude of 1723 masl, was in a very bad condition with just 700 trees. Roque and his wife set about rejuvenating the farm, planting new coffee trees in batches of 1000. Today they have a total of 8000 trees, all of the Castillo variety, and half a hectare of their land is kept as a forest reserve area.

He picks ripe cherries every two weeks during harvest season, which in Cuaca lasts from March to May, and then again in October. Asocarmelo help Roque with quality training and finding a market for his coffee. You’ll find a bright chocolatey, caramel taste with notes of nutmeg and red berries.
