Our Paradise single origin is made up of a few of the best lots from the Lahamenegu wash station in Papua New Guinea. While almost all our single origin coffees are from a single farm, here we work with a few farmers to maintain the year-round supply and taste profile of our house single origin you have here, enjoy!
Traditionally ‘washed’ coffees are seen as superior. Although we love the differing characteristics of coffees processed in all forms we picked this as our house single origin due to its clean taste – something that the best ‘washed’ coffees do well. A ‘washed’ process strips the outer coffee ‘cherry’ of the inner coffee beans through a de-pulping process which is done under running water.
This coffee here has classic notes of cocoa – chocolate-like but not overly sweet. A calm nuttiness follows on the palate – nothing invasive, highly subtle and creamy. The finish is where mild sweetness does arrive in the form of dried fruit. We’ve roasted this to work for both espresso – with or without milk – and filter/batch brew.
